Connecting the Dots: Wedding Hairstyle and Venue
Weddings do call for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get that perfect hair to go with the dress. But don’t get too carried away with all the drama, one important thing to consider is location. What’s the hair got to do with the place? Everything.
Whether you have your wedding down at the bay or in a lovely garden, your hair will get most of the pressure from the surroundings. Consider the elements going against it, like the strong wind, the humid air or the dryness of the atmosphere, and the bridal hairdo will have to stay up until the end of the day. Which bridal hair goes to which wedding location?
THE BEACH. Since your greatest enemy will be the wind, why go against it when you can go with it? The idea is for the bride to look laid back and natural. Opt for flower tiaras that aren’t too big or go for fresh flowers for a more subtle approach. Get that updo with side-swept bangs or have your hair look like it was slightly undone. Make sure that there are no strands covering your face and secure everything with pins and some hairspray. Don’t overdo the looping side strands, if they are long enough to reach your shoulders they might look sticky against your skin in the salty sea breeze.
THE GARDEN. Depending on the season and the time of the day for the wedding, garden weddings may be tricky. Since it is still set outdoors, there is a big possibility of your hair getting frizzy or dry. If you are going for a more structured do, better start with the anti-frizz regimen from the roots up. Get down to business with serums or frizz gels and conquer the roots by using hot air in blow-drying. Finish it off with cool drying to close the roots and then apply the finishing touches. If you think you would need a touch up right before the reception, tell your hairstylist ahead of time.
THE WINTER WONDERLAND. Cold and dry surroundings will eat your hair up immediately after stepping out into the snow. The secret? Moisture and conditioning. Set it straight with a moisture regimen recommended by a professional and keep in mind to apply heat-protecting cream before blow-drying. Avoid hair products that contain alcohol since it will contribute to the dryness and further damage rather than preventing it. Top it all with a promenade or styling cream to preserve the moisture and a crystal tiara will certainly make you the most gorgeous ice princess of the ball.
THE INDOORS. In a controlled environment, you may have your hair down if it is appropriate for the theme and the gown. Another hot trend today is to wear your hair up during the ceremony and have half of it down during the reception. This means you get two looks for two separate events and it wouldn’t even take hours to do the switch. Ask your hairdresser about this and have a dry run of both styles way before the wedding.

Mixing Tiara Combs and Veils
There are a number of choices available with regard to mixing veils and tiara combs. Tiaras and veils are common elements in most weddings. Although more common in traditional weddings, it is not surprising to find more contemporary weddings wherein brides wear tiaras and veils. Except in a few cases, brides often opt to wear a veil. In terms of placing accessories on the hair, the bride can select to wear a traditional tiara or opt for a more functional bridal comb.
There are combs which are plain and unadorned while others are extremely decorative. Plain bridal combs are commonly bought attached to a veil. These types of combs are not meant to be seen and only exist for a functional purpose. As such, an unadorned bridal comb can be easily removed anytime, whenever the bride sees fit.
On the other hand, a decorative bridal comb is meant to be seen and appreciated. These can be purchased attached or separate from the veil. With a veil attached to a decorative tiara comb, the hairstylist or the bride can easily secure the veil and comb in place. It also reduces the number of accessories placed on the head. However, being attached, the bride will have to think twice about removing the decorative bridal comb without leaving her hair somewhat bare. With the comb separate from the veil, it is possible to remove the veil but leave the comb attached to the hairstyle. As the decorative bridal comb is separate from the veil, the hairstylist will have to make sure that both pieces are fastened securely. This reduces the risk of the veil flying or falling off the bride’s head. Some of the possible items used to secure a decorative bridal comb include hair or bobby pins.
A large number of brides may be aware that tiaras and bridal combs exist but may not be as familiar with the wedding accessories known as tiara combs. Tiara combs are a type of decorative bridal comb used to accessorize the bride’s hair. A tiara comb resembles a tiara with the added purpose of being more functional as compared to a tiara. In comparison to a tiara, wedding tiara combs tend to be much more secure than regular tiaras, making them a more practical choice when it comes to weddings.
By acting as a decorative accessory, the tiara comb can enhance the beauty of the hairstyle and other accessories being worn, making the bride more beautiful. From a more functional standpoint, a tiara comb can securely attach the veil on to the bride’s head. Bridal combs are distinguishable and different from other types of combs because of the position of the teeth. With tiara combs, the teeth are slightly tilted, making the ornamented area stand out when the accessory is pushed down along the bride’s hairstyle.
With selecting any type of hair accessory, it is always important to seek the advice of a seasoned hairstylist. As a professional, the hairstylist would be able to provide some suggestions on the type of accessories that will fit the desired look and can also provide the bride the much-needed assurance that her hair will remain gorgeous throughout the wedding day.

The Best Bride Makeup For Your Special Day
Getting married is a wonderful life changing event. When its your special day you want everything to be perfect. You want your dress to look gorgeous and to have everything just as you imagined including your makeup. Having the right bride makeup is important to make your day spectacular.
When creating the best wedding makeup look you first need to start with a moisturizer that contains a SPF of 30 or higher, especially if your ceremony is outdoors. Then you should use a foundation to cover any imperfections and even out your skin tone. You do need to be careful not to use too much however, since foundation can stain your dress. When applying the foundation be sure to blend it very well. Cameras can pick up things like makeup lines, so you want to make sure that your bridal makeup is perfectly blended.
If you are fair skinned and want to lighten up your look, you should use a white eye shadow at your brow bone. If your skin is a little darker complected, then using a warm peach or vanilla shade will have the same effect. You also want to define your eyebrows.
You can easily do this by using an eyeliner or eye shadow that is the same color as your hair. When applying makeup to your eyes, give your eyes shape by contouring them with eye shadow and liner, but avoid using colors that are too deep. You don’t want the shade to become over bearing and distract people from your eyes.
Using a charcoal, navy or mahogany eyeliner is a great choice for beautiful bride makeup. Black and brown can be too harsh on the eyes, especially if you are getting married in the day or outside. When using a mascara, make sure its waterproof. You are sure to shed some tears or maybe sweat from dancing and the last thing you want on your wedding day is raccoon eyes!!
Last step to finalizing your look is highlighting your cheeks and lips. If you are fair skinned use a nice pink tone blush on your cheeks. If your skin is darker, then use the rosier color. Your lip color should be a bright color so that your lips show up in pictures.
If you normally wear neutral colors, wear it as a base and follow up with a brighter pink or rose color. If you normally like the darker colors, again, use it as a base and cover it with a brighter tone. Also, be sure to carry the lipstick you have chosen on you, so that you can touch up when necessary.
A few other important tips for having incredible wedding makeup is making sure that your makeup is applied in a well lit natural light. Sit near a window if possible. Natural light will allow you to see the colors the best on your skin. If you can’t use natural light, then use a very bright halogen lamp. You should also make sure that you are at eye level to the stylist so they can see the colors at the best angle.
You are sure to look your best if you follow these simple tips for applying your bride makeup.
